Sketchbooks
I love my sketchbooks. There’s less pressure when you start a sketch rather than a “painting” so often the resulting work is more free, less inhibited, less precious and therefore better.
Sketching in the environment, “en plein air” creates an immediate connection with the landscape that’s just way better than painting from a photograph but is generally much less comfortable!
